Salmon Tossing

January 2019

The 5th and 6th grades traveled up the Ohop Valley to toss frozen salmon. These Chinook salmon carcasses provide valuable nutrients to streams and rivers. A whole host of critters rely on salmon, from aquatic insects all the way up the food chain to bears and eagles. This is a good opportunity for our students to help improve salmon habitat in the watershed in which we live.
